Membership 5
The full membership, free for one month. You get a complete 12-week plan from the first day, not a limited taster. It covers running, cycling, lifting, or a mix, built around your goals and your schedule.
It becomes £29.99 a month, billed monthly. You can cancel any time, so nothing is locked in.
No. Archie builds and adapts your plan on its own. The VO2 max and DEXA tests are there for when you want the plan set from your real numbers, but they are optional.
Yes. You cancel from inside the app whenever you want, and you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. It is a monthly plan, so there is no long contract to sign.
Yes. You add a card to start the free month. You are not charged during the month, and if you cancel before it ends you pay nothing.
Archie 4
No. Your plan is built in code, from published exercise science. The maths and the safety limits are fixed, so Archie never invents a number. AI does one job here, fitting that science to you.
Running, cycling, lifting, and calisthenics, on their own or combined. You give Archie your goals and your schedule, and it builds every session around them.
Archie rebuilds the plan every week around what you actually did. Miss a session and the load reshapes. Get stronger and the next weeks get harder.
Yes. Just ask. You can steer the plan at any time, and Archie reworks it around the change.
Testing 5
VO2 max is the best single measure of aerobic fitness, and one of the strongest predictors of how long you will live. We measure it directly, from the air you breathe out, in one appointment.
Your watch estimates VO2 max from your pulse. We measure it directly in a lab. The number your training is built on should be measured, not guessed.
A DEXA scan shows how much fat and muscle you carry, and where, down to the gram. It also shows visceral fat, the fat around your organs that is linked to disease, which a scale or BMI cannot see.
You can take either on its own, or both together. VO2 max (Stride) and DEXA (Scan) are £219 each, or £399 for the pair.
Your numbers set your training zones, your sessions, and your weekly load. They also show which system, your heart, lungs, or muscles, is holding your fitness back, so your hard sessions can target it.
Booking 5
We test in London and Manchester, across three clinics. We are collecting interest from other cities and plan to add clinics where demand grows.
You take the test you booked, VO2 max, DEXA, or both. For VO2 max you wear a mask that measures the air you breathe out while you build up your effort on a treadmill. The DEXA scan is a short, still body scan. Plan for about 45 minutes.
You do not need to be an athlete. Before your test, you complete a short health screening during onboarding, based on the ACSM guidelines, so we know it is safe for you to push hard on the day.
Your results are ready in the app within 24 hours.
Yes. Your appointment is booked with the testing clinic, so rescheduling or cancelling it follows their policy, which is shown when you book and may include a fee.
Pricing 4
Archie is £29.99 a month, and the first month is free. Lab testing is separate and one-off. VO2 max (Stride) and DEXA (Scan) are £219 each, or £399 together.
A one-off. You buy a test once, from inside the app, whenever you want. There is no recurring charge for testing.
For a test, it depends on timing. Before you book your appointment, you get a full refund minus a £25 admin fee. After you book but before the test, a refund minus that fee and any clinic costs. Once the test is done and your results are in, there is no refund. Archie is billed monthly, so you just cancel to stop paying.
We do not promise a specific result, and there is no money-back guarantee based on your scores. The free first month is there so you can try Archie before you pay. If any part of the service is not done properly, we will put it right, and your statutory rights always apply.
Trust 4
Real science. This is the same exercise testing hospitals use to find whether the heart, lungs, or muscles are limiting a patient.
We built the plan from the physiology up, against published research. Archie is named after Archibald Hill, who discovered VO2 max and won a Nobel Prize in 1922.
No. We could, and most of this industry does. But a blood panel tells you something is off without telling you what to do in your next session. We only measure what changes your training.
We use it to build your plan and run the service. You can read exactly what we collect and how we use it on our privacy page.
No. Archie builds you a training programme. It is not medical advice or a diagnosis.
